Odur family has been working this land for a hundred years. This and the subsequent history pages explains how the original and succeeding generations have used, improved and enjoyed this beautiful little piece of Earth.
Before our family came to Blanchard Meadows, various American Indian tribes lived here.
The first generation of our family on this land was Albert and Frances. Albert discovered the area on a hunting trip, and in 1919 purchased 160 acres along Blanchard and Cold Creeks, a house, a Deering mower, a McCormick rake, and a stump puller. In 1921 he purchased 240 more acres. In June 1921, Albert married Frances May Lane, and in 1922 they moved to the ranch.
The second generation began when Marvin was born in December, 1923, and grew when Albert Earl was born in 1933.
The third generation includes Audrey, Judy, and Bruce, who spent part of their summers living at the ranch with their grandparents Albert and Frances and parents Marvin adn Olga.
